Florent Marty Named Chief Exec Of Rugby Europe

Rugby Europe has announced the appointment of Florent Marty as its new CEO. He will officially start on January 8, 2019. He will be tasked with managing the staff, the implementation of the 2017/2021 strategic plan as well as all international developments.

Marty spent 11 years with the National Basketball Association (NBA) in Europe and the Middle East where he played a key role in the NBA growth in the region and 3 years at Lagardère Sports. His missions included the acquisition and implementation of new sports rights, developing and implementing events and working on brand activation with sponsors. Latterly, he was MD of Solive, a live social media publishing software dedicated to the sports industry, position that he will leave to join Rugby Europe.

Octavian Morariu, president of Rugby Europe declared: "We are thrilled to welcome Florent in our team. His vast experience, in particular his background in digital, events, grassroots development and rights management will be a great asset to Rugby Europe.
