Bonfield Becomes Company Secretary At Halifax To Support New Board

Steven Bonfield, a solicitor and a director of Chadwick Lawrence LLP, is about to take up the position of company secretary at Halifax RLFC to support the new board of directors.

Bonfield is the supervising partner of the firm’s Halifax office and specialises in corporate and commercial transactions and corporate finance. He is currently acting as legal manager for the multi-million pound ‘HDOne Project’, a massive leisure development at the John Smith’s Stadium, home of both Huddersfield Town AFC and the Giants.

An occasional Fax supporter for many years, it was not until he merged his Halifax based law practice, Steven Bonfield Solicitors, with Chadwick Lawrence in 2004 (when Chadwick Lawrence began sponsoring the club) that his continuing love affair with Halifax RLFC really took off. Since then, he and wife Elizabeth have been regular attendees at most games both home and away.

‘We just love the game in general and Fax in particular,’ he said.

On his new role, he said, ‘I have known Michael Steele for many years and believe that the supporters owe a massive debt of gratitude to him and all our retiring directors. I am really looking forward to taking over just one of Michael’s many roles and to working with the new board to take the club forward’.
