  • Rugby Retail Reaching Its Peak

... Canterbury Phoenix range is the overall best seller at Rugbystore.co.uk. Interestingly, not a single player wore either Canterbury or Kooga boots on the opening day of the Aviva Premiership last season but another of the big names in the Rugby retail market Lovell Rugby says they remain popular brands with the general public. “You don’t really see any professionals wearing Canterbury boots or Kooga boots – that is quite rare nowadays but we do still sell quite a lot of their boots,” Jac...

  • Stags Look for Stability Before Growth

For many clubs, a rapid rise of the like the Hemel Stags have experienced would, for some, be an opportunity to sit back and look at they’ve achieved. However, with the clubs debut in Championship 1 just around the corner, there’s still plenty to work on to build on their recent successes. Running Rugby spoke to Tom Williams, community manager at the club to see what they have planned for the future. The sentiment was clear; the focus is on long term success. Having previously been let down...

  • Rugby Re-united

Saracens and England full back Dan Scarbrough on how a succession of injuries led him to set up a social networking site   It’s September 2004, Saracens versus Worcester in the second game of the year and I’ve just sub-luxed my shoulder (where it pops out and in) scoring my first try for Saracens. This is the umpteenth time over the last couple of years this has happened; things don’t feel right and haven’t for a long time. But as Rugby players do, I patch myself up and get on with it....

  • Wasps Do Away With 'London' Prefix

Aviva Premiership side Wasps have dropped the 'London' prefix from their official name and from next season they will once again be known as just Wasps. The decision is likely to have been made in order to establish a clearer brand and to capitalise on marketing opportunities, though the revertion to the club's traditional name will likely please supporters. The club became known as 'London Wasps' in 1999 after the game turned professional in an attempt to distinguish the senior team from the am...
