  • Lancashire Clubs Favour Local Leagues

    A meeting held at Wigan RUFC last week has resulted in 24 Lancashire clubs proposing to resign from the RFU English Clubs Championship according to the Talking Rugby Union website. The proposal has come about due to certain clubs at Level 7, 8 and 9 having to travel upwards of six-hour round trips within the RFU leagues.     Lancashire County Cricket Club have appointed Justin Hopwood as new sales and marketing director. Hopwood joins from commercial ticketing company the Mike Burton Group where he worked on joint venture companies with both England Rugby and the British & Irish Lions.   • Swanton Leaves Sale Sharks After 17 Years

    Head of media Dave "Swanny" Swanton has left Sale Sharks with immediate effect after 17 years. Further details of his departure have yet to  be made available. Swanton, who also has a radio show on BBC Radio Lancashire, had previously managed a press office for Wigan Warriors and Warrinton Wolves.

  • RFL Help Leigh Avoid Winding-Up Order

    Leigh Centurions have revealed the RFL have stepped in to help the club avoid a winding-up order brought by HM Revenue and Customs.
