Worcester Warriors is under new ownership following its successful sale to a consortium run by former Swindon Town FC chairman, Jed McCrory and financed by Errol Pope, alongside Scott Priestnall and former Premiership Rugby and England Saxons player David Seymour.

McCrory has been linked with a purchase of the club since December last year. He is credited with saving Swindon from liquidation in 2013, although his tenure at the club was short-lived.

Pope is a finance specialist in property and commodity trading and has a passion for community-led projects in sport.

The new owners are said to be committed to keeping the club at Sixways and investing above a certain threshold into the rugby budget. They have plans to further develop the Sixways site to generate additional income, with the intentions of making the club self-sustainable and achieving long-term success both on and off the field.

Warriors chairman Bill Bolsover, who will remain on the board, said: “Having met with numerous potential new owners and investors we have found long-term owners who are capable of taking the club to the next level."

Bolsover confirmed that Cecil Duckworth will remain as president while directors John Crabtree and Anthony Glossop have left after 10 years at the club.
